What is the advantages of filling foam on floating ball valve's top?
The common floating ball valves on the market are hollow, so the damage degree of the floating ball is directly related to the pipeline pressure and medium corrosivity. The hollow floating ball is easy to shrink during transportation or collision. And it will be damaged in a period of time when the medium is corrosive. Let's first say that the wall thickness of the lower hollow floating ball is within 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm, of which 0.5 mm is more common. Obviously, although the floating ball is used for a long time only by the self material of floating ball valves, the service time is different according to the pressure corrosion. And if the floating ball is damaged, it needs to be replaced immediately, otherwise the water inlet end cannot be closed, which will easily cause overflow.
According to market conditions, floating ball valves can fill the PU foam inside the float ball, and the PU foam has hydrophobicity. That means water can not penetrate into the inner part of the foam, so that even when the outer wall of the floating ball is damaged, the floating ball can still be used normally because of the filling of rigid foam inside. The conventional floating ball is connected with the valve stem by nut spot welding. This structure can be used normally within the service pressure range. However, if the pipe has water hammer or the pipeline pressure rises, the spot welding point is easy to break, resulting in the floating ball falling off. According to this phenomenon, we weld a section of valve stems inside the floating ball, and the connection between the valve stem and a cylindrical inner wire is used, which greatly fastens the connection between the two parts.
Floating ball valves fill the connections between the foam and stem.
Applications of floating ball valve products
Floating ball valves are suitable for water tanks, water towers, reservoirs and other liquid storage vessels. It is without external source and relies on its own configuration of floating ball control switch to realize automatic water replenishment. The standard setting pressure of floating valves are 0.3Mpa, 0.6Mpa and 1.0Mpa, which can be configured according to the actual use pressure of pipeline. The pressure of small size ball valve can reach about 1.6Mpa. Because of high pressure, large sizes of floating balls and long valve stems, the actual size of liquid storage vessel should be considered in actual selection, so as to avoid improper installation of ball valves due to too large selection specification. The ball valve can be installed vertically, and adjustable ball valves can be used for top installation. Floating ball valves such as floating ball configuration (floating sizes), stem sizes, floating ball forms (foam/piercing/plastic floating ball) are usually custom-made, which can be selected according to actual needs.
