Eccentric Semi-ball Valves and V-shaped Ball Valves

Aug 05, 2021
An eccentric semi-ball valve is a relatively new type of ball valve, which has some unique advantages related to the structure, including opening and closing without friction, sealing not being worn easily, and small opening and closing torque. This can reduce the size of the actuator and a multi-turn electric actuator can be equipped, which can achieve the purpose of the adjustment and close cutting off of the medium. An eccentric semi-ball valve is widely applied to working conditions that require strict cutting off, such as petroleum, chemical, urban water supply and drainage.

The features of the eccentric semi-ball valve are as follows:
1. The eccentric semi-ball valve has a top-mounted structure. The valve installed on the pipeline can be directly inspected and repaired online, which can effectively reduce costs.
2. The eccentric semi-ball valve has a single seat, which can eliminate the problem that the medium in the valve cavity affects the safe use due to an abnormal pressure increase.
3. The eccentric semi-ball valve has low torque. The valve stem with special structure design can be easily opened and closed only by a small handle.
4. When the eccentric semi-ball valve is opened or closed, there is no friction. This function completely solves the problem of affecting the sealing due to mutual friction between the sealing surfaces for traditional valves.
5. The eccentric semi-ball valve has wedge-shaped sealing structure. The valve relies on the mechanical force provided by the valve stem to press the ball wedge onto the valve seat to seal, so that the sealing performance of the valve is not affected by the differential pressure of the pipeline. The sealing performance is reliably guaranteed under various working conditions.
6. The eccentric semi-ball valve has self-cleaning structure of the sealing surface. When the ball is tilted from the valve seat, the fluid in the pipeline passes through 360° along the sealing surface of the ball, which not only eliminates the partial scouring of the valve seat by the high-speed fluid, but also removes the accumulation on the sealing surface to achieve the purpose of self-cleaning.

The V-shaped ball valve is a trunnion mounted ball valve, which is also a single seated sealed ball valve. It has the best adjustment among ball valves. Its flow characteristics are equal percentages and the adjustable ratio is 100:1. There is a shearing effect between the V cut of the V-shaped ball valve and metal valve seat, which is especially applicable for media containing fibers, small solid particles, slurry and other media. The V-shaped ball valve does not have the function of flow adjustment, and can also be used for fluids containing particles.

The characteristics of the V-shaped ball valve are as follows:
1. The V-shaped ball valve has small fluid resistance and its coefficient of resistance is equal to the length.
2. The V-shaped ball valve has simple structure, small sizes, and light weights.
3. The V-shaped ball valve is widely applied to vacuum systems due to its good sealing performance.
4. The V-shaped ball valve has easy operation, fast opening and closing, and it can be operated from full opening to full closing only by rotating, which is easy to control from a long distance.
5. The V-shaped ball valve has advantages of easy maintenance, simple structure, movable sealing rings, easy disassembly and replacement.
6. The V-shaped ball valve is fully opened or fully closed, the sealing surface of the sphere and seat is isolated from the medium. When the medium passes, it will not cause corrosion of the valve's sealing surface.
7. The V-shaped ball valve is widely used, ranging from small diameters to big diameters, from high vacuum to high pressure.

When the ball rotates 90 degrees. Spherical surfaces should be shown at the inlet and outlet to cut off the flow. The eccentric semi-ball valve is a new kind of ball valve. The specifications of the adapter can be reduced due to its characteristics, such as small opening and closing torque, opening and closing without friction and not being worn easily.
