The intelligentized telescopic frictionless ball valve, one new valve product, has been put into use, which can improve the safety of oil and gas pipelines.
It was learned from the Sixth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group that an intelligentized telescopic frictionless ball valve was jointly developed with South China Branch of Academy and Sinopec Sales. And it was put into use, marking that China has achieved new progress in oil and gas pipeline innovation ability.
Compared with common ball valve, the telescopic frictionless ball valve adopts new four-disc type main valve and double screw transmission structure, which is suitable for the flammable, explosive harsh environment with more impurities. And it can meet the requirements for fire and explosion protection. In case of emergency, it can simultaneously shut off the upstream and downstream switches, and form an independent zero leakage seal, which is a great guarantee for pipeline safety. And it marked a new progress in the independent innovation capacity of China's oil and long-distance gas pipelines.

Previously, the ball valves used in China's oil and gas storage and transportation pipelines were mostly imported, which was not only costly, but also had a long supply cycle of spare parts, making it difficult to meet the requirements of emergency maintenance. Because of structural defects, traditional ball valves have internal leakage due to wear on the sealing surface during the process of using, which affects the service life seriously. And it does not have the functions of online leak detection and maintenance. In view of the above problems, Eleventh Institutions of the 6th Institute of Aerospace Science and Technology Group and Sinopec Sales in South China Branch have successfully developed an Intelligentized telescopic frictionless ball valve after more than four years of joint efforts.
